I have a project coming up that i have to pump through 750 ft of 5'' pipe on a bridge deck. Should i use a trailer pump or go through the boom? Any ideas? I piggy backed 420' through a pump on a barge last year. |

depends on the mix, i did 300 feet of line off the boom on a 38 meter and i was pushing about 300 bar with an 8 inch slump. the mix had slag and silica in it and it was a very dense mix. i think i would go out the back end of the truck.

Switch the hydraulic lines over so it will be plumbed for high pressure and go off the rear. I pumped concrete through over 2000 foot of 5 inch last year multiple times on the same job with a schwing with a 1200 pump kit plumbed for high pressure. |

I got a question my line pump is a 5/45 Olin it says it will pump 1,000 ft flat, I don't believe it will a couple years ago I was asked to help pump 1/8 rock mix almost grout I barly pi,ped out a 400 ft using all 2 1/2 inch hose also primed in three locations and she was pegging the pressure guage. |

Probably didnt pump through 400 barely because you were reduced down so much. If you were pumping through the largest line the pump could handle it would probably pump through 1000 foot. |

Yes you can. As stated before me, the right mix is critical. I pumped through a Schwing 31 meter 1300' into a mine shaft 3 years ago. Mix design is the first thing, then your equipment. Watch your pump pressure's and oil temp. Listen to the pump, and watch the mix. Look at every load. |

if it were me i'd forego pumping through the boom and go right off the back end, to avoid pumping through all those elbos and a 5" de. since its a bridge deck im guessing state mudd and cant get the mudd very wet and thus i would switch to the high side to avoid any possible trouble. have a good air compressor and a way to contain the blow down. eliminate as many elbos as possible, pumping through a 2' 90 is the same as pumping through 30' of 5" pipe, plus you could blow the 5" de at the end of the boom pumping through that much system. I just finished up an inside placing boom job inside boeing, did around 5000 yards in total pumping through a thousand feet of slick line into a 32m on a zero elev frame with my 39m on the rod side no prob usually around 240 bar. what ever you decide to do be safe and good luck. |

really depends on the mud, with the right mix design.... absoloutely. We recently pumped through 550 feet of mostly 3" pipe with a couple 2.5" hoses at the end using a Putzmeister 36 meter boom with a 16 cell pump kit. Was pushing around 250 bar hydraulic pressure while pumping at a rate of 20 m3 per hour (6' slump, small agg., 30 MPA mix). If switching over to high pressure be sure that the system you are pumping through is rated for 130 bar as that is what the Putz. 16 cell kit makes on the high side. Most standard delivery line is rated at 85 bar. I would be in faovour of going through the boom, though if the mud is borderline the additional elbows of the boom may not help your cause. Once again, it really comes down to the mix design. |

1,000 feet of 2,5'' line??? Never mined If you use 5'' than 750 feet should not be any problem eighter with or without boom.. But I would prefer straight from the back end. We just did 1000' 5'' with 100meters elevation. We used a BSA 1409D. Max 170 bar on hydrolics. In my experiance grout is harder to push than ''normal'' concrete. Once the grout is through the pressure will drop.. That is the type of grout that contains sand though.. That one you can use as concrete. Its easyer with water/cement mix but that you have to trow away... |

Hell yea, it's possible! I've done 800 ft ,3 & 2.5 off a 42 long rock Schwing! Pumping V-Ditch , 3" slump peagravel mix! Just prime with grout ( it's cheap insurance ) and rock on! |
