im really confused, day after day mixer drivers forget my horn is on the back of my hopper,so they hit estop,no functions concrete splatters out of tip section boom rises ,just wondering if it was the arizona heat baking their brains, does this happen where the climate is cooler,or do they get brain freeze.

I have gotten to the point where I dont let them touch anything on my pump I just pay attention when the trucks are pouring, learned my lesson while running the 58m on the 6th floor they would hit my e-stop and down the stairs I'd have to go so from then on radio contact and no touching any buttons on my pump

There needs to be an [easy to get to] big ass red button and a sign that says

MIXER DRIVER EMERGENCY HORN

True bob, i wrote BLOW ME on my button with  a sharpie, that seems to work for most.

They aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed. I try and keep an eye & ear out for them.. When they rev the motor and spin the drum, I shut her down. If it's out of site, we would typically have an oiler to keep the mixer drivers from slugging the E-Stop...

I have a new policy after years of mixer driver horn issues: If they dont hit the horn to tell me I'm empty I go back and warn them once. After that if it happens again, I slow the pump kit so I dont get a hose whip and pump on!! After the first time that rock valve slams over and they get a concrete shower They dont forget again. Cruel yes, but very funny to watch I havent thought up a punishment for the e-stop button yet but will share it if I come up with a good one.

Same problems here in GA.  Most mixermonkeys are just warm bodies to hold the steering wheel.  I'll probably get smashed for saying this but my e-stops are bypassed. pin 1 and 8 baby

pumpman3480,  i here your pain.  i had to bypass an e-stop.  would get moisture in the box which froze the botton when pressed.  some of those boys are perminate cruise control, and it aint 140km/h.

If you think it is funny to intentionally splatter concrete all over someone, they will find it funnier when you get back in your pump truck and there is sh-- all over the driver seat.Read the comics to get the funnies....
