This is the Spring Boom Inspection class held at PMA

They spent almost 2 weeks in Beautiful Racine WI braving the weather to hone their boom inspection skills.

The class consists of 4 days of class room and actual hands on techniques for boom inspecting.

The week end and following week were filled with the customers physically inspecting the booms to satisfy a portion of the required follow-up inspections, both Telebelt and Pump booms were made available for us.

Being at the factory with the staff and facility as well as Engineering back up to help customers get the best in understanding and technical practice needed to be able to inspect this kind of machine in the industry is an awesome opportunity.

Use of tools for indicating worn pins and bushings, crack detection and ultrasonic tools, as well as dye pen and Mag particle testing are also part of the course.

We enjoyed learning in a warm environment of the PMA facility inside, customers from Australia, and both Canadian coasts as well as the US were represented.

At the factory we had all the needs for learning in a safe and comfortable environment.

Thanks to local customers we have been able to do physical inspections on real working units, this greatly increases the real world inspections we all get in the field.

This is the 2nd class we have been able to set up to do the physical portion, and so far the results have been rewarding to PMA and the customers.

I hope to continue to offer the class on an annual basis.
