is there a cement shortage everywhere? here in california the plants are closing in the middle of the day saying no more powder. even in the middle of a pour tough luck they say. some redimix arent even taking orders this week. |

we are in the orange, la, riverside area the first i heard about it was last week in the middle of a pour when they cut us off. they being Cemex and. the latest today was no sand. its bad over here! tommorow is the first day in seven years with no jobs. not one! not beacause they dont want to pour beacause not enough materials to go around.This message was edited by rspumping on 5-9-05 @ 3:50 PM |

RMC is out here in Arizona also, they had a couple plants in Phoenix and a couple in Tucson.Goes in the big end, comes out the little....sometimes |

just got the new concrete const mag. guess who made no 1 on the list of top concrete producers with over 1 billion in sales? yep cemex they have hq in houston texas. a guy told me ten years ago to buy stock and i didnt do it dam it. |

Here in Colorado, there is almost as much cement produced as there is used. We are one of the only states in that situation. Much of it is produced by cemex. This has kept prices down and supply up. Not a bad thing, even if it is mexican. |

That is probably the case, because even though a lot is produced, a lot is also exported out of state. |
