Dick Tracy is Chris Hauge with Christophers Concrete Pumping in Phoenix, Arizona. Any of the Arizona pumpers could give you his phone number if it is not in the phone book.

Todd, most of my posts have been erased from your web site. Why would you want to interview me? I will not endorse a "love fest or a group hug". I have lost all tolerance for the B.S. So why don’t you have a radio interview with the guy who mailed you back on who I was and have a radio interview with him ? Perhaps how to get free machines from PM could be discussed. I would like to know how to get machines at no cost myself. Of course with Tommy Two Tones out of the picture we all know that wouldn’t not happen again! No now it's just deferred payment and different players. So what has changed? NAMFT. You already have had Bob call me to tone it down so" you know my name look up my number." Why? The truth is the truth. I am not afraid of stepping on toes any more it is what it is, the truth, that's just what it is. Let me tell you Fair Pump was right on the money. No one cared or gave a hoot except one major player. Most posting here did not comprehend what anti trust and racketeering even meant even though it was happening all over in this industry with mainly one perpetrator. Perhaps you might remember when you deleted my posts after another Pm distributor came on and I wrote back ad wonderful reply to Mr. L calling the kettle black. (I still have that on my computer along with perhaps 20 -25 other posts that were removed from this web site). If you want a group hug and someone to tell you sweet lies I am the wrong guy. If you want to actually want the truth, substance and you believe in ethics, will not censor what I have to say then call, we both know that will not happen. So keep on keeping on with the group hugs, forget substance and change. Let's not call a crook a crook, let's give them all hugs and love so we don’t get them upset and keep the advertising revenues up. You have become a good politician Todd, I understand why. I am not ready nor will I ever be to give up my soul, my ethics or my beliefs or values to pander to the unethical crooked MFRs who run this industry. |

Chris, I don’t know how many people took the time to talk to you and hear your story but I was one of them. I think the world of you and enjoyed reading every one of your post. You opened my eyes to much of what is going on in this industry. The reason your post were deleted was because the message board was not designed to be the tell all, turn in the crooks type of message board site. If I let everyone who was upset, wronged, taken advantaged of and every malcontent post his trash on the site that is all that would ever be on the site and I just did not want that to happen. I am not saying that you were ever in the wrong Chris, I am just saying the message board was not the place for it. That is why I liked it when you did your site fairpump.com and I could point people to that. I think your upset at me because I did not give you a place on my site for your story. Well that has now changed because I can do a fair real radio show and you can tell your story in an interview style. You can even bag on me and tell me how much of a dick head you think I am if you want. I will not sensor you. Please remember I was the one who (last week that is) started to seek you out to make your story known. I now have a forum called my radio show and this is perfect for this type of thing. I already called you once and left a message to talk to you about this stuff, I will call again. Thanks for posting your thoughts on the message board. Todd. |

As I said in my post I understand your position. I honestly don't know why you would want to interview me since the jist will go back to what I have posted in the past. If we as an industry do not expose what has happened or is happening there will be no change. In Anti Trust laws ban people who are convicted from working in that industry for twenty years. Do you think it is fair for a manufacturer to coherse a company to pull a bid on a Federal Project in return for free equipment? That's jail time. Yet it happened. I have recieved apologies from some insiders and accepted those from them as individuals but will never accept one on a corporate level. They admitted when confronted what I said was the truth in front of witnesses. I have confirmed with individuals what I suspected who were on the inside. Some of those are now deceased. Those that admitted have stated it was the old regime and they took steps to clean it up. What carnage did they and are they resposible for in this industry? How many millions did they cost small operators and how many lives did they impact for the negative? How many people did they finance to ruin and steal what others had worked for? As I now pass my fifties I wonder with the time and effort I have put into this industry is it worth it? No, plain and simple. Could it. should it have been worth it? Yes. I as a business owner will diversify away from a day to day operations of a pumping service. I refuse to continue to build a company up to have it wrecked by manufacturers games, this time it is simply economics. The effects are the same and until this industry charges in accordance with other rentals I will not grow my fleet. Utilization numbers that are used are just plain unrealistic, risk is unrealistic, costs are soaring and have been for years. We and other construction industries caqnnot hire and find career operators since the prices are too low to offer great career packages. Operator wages have been in limbo too, it is far easier to go into another line of work maybe for less money maybe for more with out getting up at 2 a.m. and working a steady job with benefits and for those lucky enough to get city and federal jobs with sick pay and "personal days, federal days off life is good. No we as an industry get the federal day off because of inspections and the day after because those who failed to call in inspections. No reward just lost utilization in a industry where 100% utilization is required just to make cost, never mind a profit. If this latest hit does not cause the industy to pause and readjust pricing and lower utilization targets this industry will continue to spiral down the drain. There will be no banks ready to jump in and loan on pumps with the amount of machines in foreclosure today. If we are not able to raise expectaions and wages to operators there will be no incentive for good people to come into the industry. There will be no incentive for new responsible business owners to come itno this industry either. I think most of us are just trapped and have no way out. When was the last time a pump company was paid for blue sky? Nope, just retail or wholesale value of equipment thats it....Enough for today just food for thought Todd. Was not attacking you just pointing out facts. |

On another note, I know a company in our industry that that started to diversifiey about 5 years ago. They purchased a machine that cost 1/4 of what a mid forty meter costs. They get the same rate of return on 1/4 of the money. Last I spoke with them they had like 10 of those machines. I would follow thier lead but specifications here are different than there. So I will continue to scout around. It's about making money not having your name on a boom. If you buy a 61 meter at 1.5 million and your license fees are some 30k a year should you not make a 10%-15% profit? So thats $1000 a day profit minimum and the payment is like $1500 a day based on full untilization. Just those two items should tell you a 61 meter needs to rent out a 300 plus an hour before operator, fuel, mantainance. So if you go out and pump 200 yards and costs of maintainance are 3.00 a yard that machine needs to bring in close to 5k a day...it is not happening not daily. Let me tell you a crane that costs 1.5 million is likely bringing in .75-1% of rental cost per hour and stays on the job for a long period of time with the engine off and a paper being read in the cab.
