Running an alliance 40m on a 2008 Pete.

My machine starts pumping full volume if you hit an E-stop or if the remote battery dies or if the remote loses connection with the receiver. Cannot figure it out.

E-Stop Problems with Alliance 40m Pump

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where your Alliance 40m pump starts running at full volume when the E-stop is activated or when you lose remote connectivity. This is a serious safety concern that needs to be addressed promptly.

Possible Causes

  1. Voltage/Current Issues:

    • The problem could be related to voltage drop in the E-stop circuit
    • Look for loose or corroded wires in the E-stop switches
    • Check the cable powering the remote receiver
  2. Wiring Problems:

    • Open the control boxes and inspect for loose connections
    • Give wires a light tug to check if they're secure in their terminals
    • Check for corrosion (especially if the pump has been washed with acid)
  3. Power Supply Issues:

    • Verify the truck's alternator is producing adequate voltage (should be at least 13.6 VDC)
    • Poor grounds for control boxes or inadequate power from the truck can cause problems

Suggested Actions

  1. Inspect all E-stop circuits and wiring for loose connections or corrosion
  2. Check voltage at key points in the system
  3. Verify grounding connections are clean and secure
  4. Test the alternator output from your Peterbilt

This issue requires immediate attention as it's a significant safety hazard. If you're unable to resolve it through these basic checks, I'd recommend contacting Alliance support directly for specialized assistance.
