In the interest of full disclosure - If a sponsor on this site or another had partners in other business interests that a potential customer was in competition with and they were not aware of the connection - would it be Ethical to reveal all the partners of that firm? Some people or companies may be giving certain firms financial information that they would not want other certain people to see. Would you agree that if such a firm was a sponsor and completely above board - they would be proud to contain in their web site all their active and silent partners?????????

Ever play poker?

The info. your taking about is public if you know where to look for it.  Is it good business publicize all of your partners?  Is it unethical not to?  I don't believe so, and neither does the law.  If someone willingly provides finacial information it is up to them to know who they are providing it to.  Don't be a sucker.

If you think the info is available that easy I challenge you to prove it.  I will give you the name of a company and you tell me who ALL the partners are.    Companies are hidden by LLCs, separate corps, registered agents and on an on.  You just never know who has their fingers in the pot.  You might think you are giving info in confidence while the entire time the silent partner you do not like is looking at your business information and making decisions that may not be to your best interest  BUYER BEWARE

Since it is sometimes difficult to find out all the owners of a privately held company, asking questions about ownership before providing financial info is a great idea. Many investors, "silent" partners, etc., own parts of different companies, with no ill intentions - they simply prefer not to make their investments public knowledge.
