1. No matter how many times you move, a laborer will always figure out a way to stand between you and the hose man blocking your view.

that's not the point of the thread. the point is to point out the things you see on a daily basis no matter what crew you are working with. it's a fun thread people come on! |

#2. your job is to pour concrete, my job is to safely operate this boom and pump. I dont tell you how to do your job, dont tell me how to do mine. #3. The better we get along, the easier your day will be. |

I actualy pumped a mix today that would be concidered curb mix.super asked whats the lowest slump i could pump, told him 2to 3 and he said that was to wet to stay on there 49 degree slope,25yds and 7 hours later ,what a mess, but what the hay could have set at home and wished for a job.by the way we do need clear glass blowers instead of stained ,just cant see why they need to see the job from my viewpoint. |

bisley57 | 07-22-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
Chuck, the lowest slump question,if it don't slide down the chute it won't pump.Gotta love that tight mud,no splatter...... |

#12 the hoseman always want to move faster than you boom can do
most of the time they push it in the right direction which is very helpful |

safety is rule one. if working for a daily rental company be nice to the costumer he is paying for you. If they want you to do something that is not correct be nice and explain why thats not correct . Not all costumers know what safe is so be nice and tell them the correct way chances are they may want you back for future pours. Fudamentals is as board subject and can go in differant directions. I have been on jobs where the contractor wants you to drag hoses or lift trowel machines for them . Or you may get the " other operator did it" just be nice and say no . Rule two you don't want to the operator that says he told me to do it. I now work for a large concrete company here in mich. And it has taken years for them to change there ways on doing things . The pouring chrew hated me at first but have learned whats is safe to do . Now they do it correct without questions. And the gray hair hair is all there fault. |
