Saw this video while training in High Voltage protection. I'm not going to preach to the choir on staying away because y'all look like you do your best. If you do get into some lines PLEASE remember that it may not be enough that your boom is in the line to trip a line relay or circuit breaker! If there isn't enough current being drawn from the boom to the ground, it may just sit there and fault(arc) until the line can be de-energized! At that point, your truck is just another load on the system. DO just like they did in this video and let the truck burn! Record a video if you want but seriously, STAY AWAY until the UTILITY LINEMEN GROUND THE LINE OR MACHINE! EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS FINALLY TRIPPED THE LINE RELAY...STAY AWAY!! That is a wasted Sky HOOK they are sign cranes, I have operated many of them years ago, one thing for sure always look up. |
