They need to weld an eyelet on the end of those things for a safety strap/sling/cable to connect to, otherwise someone's gonna put a choker on the rubber, like a normal hose, and its gonna be a big mess when the mudsnake gets choked and pinched off!!! |

Be nice to get some feedback.Things like versitility,easy of use,hoseman comments,resisting kinking and the like. |
||
rick5z | 07-23-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
hoseman said he liked it, said it was very light and easy to push around but it does kink if you push it too far, a good boom operator just has to stay with the hoseman, as far as versatility goes i also ordered a 25 footer and we'll see next week when i do a 32 ft pier. |

It is so nice to hear of a new product that addresses safety concerns and is a all out winner. What a good idea. |

I don't want to sound like a 'Debby-Downer' but: That is absolutely the wrong application for that hose. I would strongly suggest NOT attaching the wire from the reducer to the hose end. The hose is more likely to come out of it's housing than the housing coming out of the clamp. I would suggest a strap that attaches from the reducer and then snug it up on the actual hose. If it blows out of the coupler the strap will catch it. If you keep doing bridge decks with it, you'll see what I mean. I think it's great you're trying out the MudSnake. I have first hand experience with that hose. It's a very good hose for LOW SPEED applications: ICF, residential flatwork etc...anytime you have the pump speed set to: plop-plop fizz-fizz. Sorry for being a downer....

Great Pics Rick,,,, You Run A Very Clean Machine!!!! Any Trouble Finding Elbows For Your Pump? Pour It Out!!!!! |

Rick nice pics but you are not using it for what its intended for. Try to stick that hose down a 20' tall wall single mat thats 8" wide using a pea mix and see what it designed for. Or even a 40'/50' tall wall 12" wide with 3/4 rock dbl.. mat with a 40' mud snake. Been there done that its better than a tremey or a 2x4 tremey. |

raymond i disagree you can only dump it out as fast as the finishing machine goes so im goin pretty slow and i think that putting a choker on that hose might be dangerous like tootall said, it might pinch off that hose because its so soft. o yeah bill i think we got a couple of spare 90s from con forms 148mm |
||
Raymond | 07-24-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
You can use it for whatever application you want. You have a great product to work with and as time goes on you will see where they are better in some areas and maybe not so great in others. Like I said, I've got a ton of experience with this hose, I'm just trying to give you some knowledge from my time spent with them. If you take anything away from what I'm trying to pass on to you: Use a safety strap and choke the hose. trust me on that-

murf | 07-26-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
Pour it out- the bends are standard 90/148 ends except for the ones that are welded to the pipe(like up thru the turret) The one you may find awkward is the one just off the reducer- theres about 5 to choose from, all varying by a couple of degrees |

pudg | 07-27-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
great pics but I also do not think thats what the hose was intended for, I was told it was for slow output pours, you do what you want, just seems as though you would use regular hose for high output pours and use your snake when you needed it, as we debated before there was gonna be operators that misused this hose making it a danger, well here it is , a picture tells a thousand words. |

wouldnt you have a hell of a time getting a 40 footer down a column without it kinking somewhere along the line. 2, if it did blow out of the clamp in a wall/column how would you get it out without using the boom to pull it or a crane to pull it out. a medal pipe would slide with less chance of getting stuck i would think. |
||
Secret Squirrell | 07-27-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
Pudg you are correct slow and easey is the best but you can move the mud if needed. Just like aneything in our industry a little common sence is a must when working around a new product. Example you don't stand on your truck and trust a laboror to guide this down in a wall then go pump on, you really need to be on top of whats happening here. To adress step brothers comment if there is no crain no fork lift no way to help hold a pipe how do you expect the job to get completed pressure pour from the bottom? Just a nother tool in our box of tricks. |
