so when you go buy that cart full of ho ho ho made in chinna proping up the trade deficit while bush has a blank look on his face, well do wonder why fuel and cement prices are what they are. i know that that the kershaw and lone wolf knifes that i just bought were made in oregon. |

3 of these Sany units were bought in the USA via Canada late summer to promote the brand, they have been driven around for a while in the NE to show new customers. No Takers so they put them in auction about 2-3 weeks ago and they sold for $165-k each. It was tought the buyers were exporters that would send them off shore or sell them local and make a quick buck. based on the fact of the Euro is trading at around 1.42 to the dollar, means if you trade on this currency you could have picked these up for about 100-k, the Mack is worth that, even if you have to junk the pump.

I noticed too, Mr. Bob left some good messages but Santa took them back it seems. Those pics from Bauma, did that boom actually break, or did the person setting it up make a huge mistake? |

Ho Ho Ho, that Sany did come down as they were folding up at the end of the show. Naturally the people at the Huncrete stands took photos. As for Sany, a few have been sold in Australia. The first buyer was half happy but did not buy another Sany, he went with another brand. A second was mounted on a Volvo, overweight for it's size, so it had to be mounted on a tri-axle rear end set up. Not sure if it's found an owner, it had cycling problems and took months to have their (Chinese) service man attend. These Sany guys are playing the stock market, all these press releases are not to sell or manufacture pumps but to "Zing" their share along. Question ???? who would set up a manufacturing plant in Georgia, when you have $2.00 per day labour?? You will be a long time waiting for a Sany with dealer support ..... that is, someone who can talk US lingo and understand concrete pump "nit picking problem solving" unless, they get a guy from Jersey. |

Better not get someone from Jersey. 3/4 of the US population can't understand them. ;~) |

Watch it on the Jersey talk, to me it seems like the rest of the country dreams about what we're still getting for rentals. ex. no hourly or half days rates only the full day, fuel, ot for pump and operator and Oiler (if anyone knows what that is still), $50 for prime, $80 hour operators, $1' pipe and hose. |

Bob, is that correct? I was never told that. Sany's entry into the Hong Kong market. Would it work Stateside? Dump some pumps into the market, crew them with nickel a'day operators from China mainland, set up a concrete pumping division using pumps at "out the factory costs" not even and better than "dealer discount" cost and discount rates until you have most of the contract pumping. Boy, it sounds like the old days in the USA. By the way a new 38 metre boom 4 stage and 170M3 pump less truck can be sourced ex China for US$ 187.5k. 48 metre 5 stage @ US$ 310K |

I think you have it going on. Union companies seem to be doing better than non-union these days; both the company and the troops. And yea, I know about oilers. My personal opinion is that oilers should be on all pumps 55m and up. It should be a law. And if your union has them on smaller units that is good. But the big booms NEED two people. Digger, how could anyone compete with a company that is funded at the manufactures level? You couldn't. If the factory wanted a 20 pump company in your town, then it would be there. The way our raggedy-ass customs and immigration system works (not very well) who would stop them? Those boys could pump for a whole new kind of cheap. |

Bob, it would be harder to have chinese crews in the USA. However, if they tried that game, then it's up to the unions and ACPA ....... just force a "Must speak and understand American English" A MUST, otherwise for safety reasons alone, understanding the local lingo would be one restriction ....... then there is pay rates, work visa etc. Then again, if the local pumping companies do not keep their crews with enough work to pay rent/mortgage & food on the table ....... you may get some local crews that will "sell guns to the indians" so to speak. |
