How hard is it to keep a hopper filled?

seriously? today the mixer drivers just couldnt figure it out, either they were over filling it and leaving a yard behind my pump or running me dry. And what do they do when they over fill it, leave the mud on the ground for me to clean up and spray the pump off along with the my oil so when the next rocket scientist over fills  I gotta beat it off with a hammer. I think when they get hired the only question they're  asked is "can you breath"? ok great when can you start? But geeez do I still love my job, even if I gotta be a baby sitter as well. sometimes you just gotta shake your head and laugh.

how bout when you cut them off so you can pump the hopper down and they start to discharge even when you said "no more" is this green enough

i drove a mixer years ago when you stood on the back to unload you didnt want to let the hopper run dry cause you would get hit with mix if you made a mess the operator would get pissed maybe give you a dope slap for being a dope the trucks these days are so easy they just sit in the cab and laugh at us i wish it were the old days id like to give out a few dope slaps myself .Plus the companies around here dont care what the drivers do once the get to the job as long as they show up with a pulse

I feel real lucky now. About 98% of my drivers keep it where I like it. I only have a couple of bozos' who dont have a clue. I was on a job down south where this one driver put it in discharge and, proceeded to walk away from the back, he was spraying off his drum and, watching the cute little tester woman. I stopped pumping he was watching everythingelse but the pump. He literally covered my 90's with a pile. When enough people yelled at him he stopped. After he was empty he just started to leave and, I magically ran my hopper dry and, blew it on his drum. The area was clear so, I chose to do it. I wouldnt have done it except his attitude about leaving the pile was, it wasnt his problem. Me being new in the biz my attitude was screw you.

I am not a lawyer or supervisor,or ,holier than thou, but ,I would not suggest intentionally making moves that could harm someone, something.A pile can be cleaned up.You...are supposed to be the smartest person on the jobsite.A person with his finger on the trigger of a 100 ft. shotgun MUST have his head on right

I had a driver do that to me one day, left a pile about a mile high,, I was waiting for the next time he backed up to the hopper.. Of Course his time came, he did the same ole crap, overfill, run it dry.. My hoseman was feelin' it to,, so I hit the shiftover switch on my remote and blew crap all over the driver and his truck.. Believe it or not, he has NEVER over-filled my hopper or ran it dry again.. He actually turned out to be pretty good at the pump after that incident.. Guess he did'nt like concrete on him afterall..

Ya know it is becoming a everyday problem.I guess for me now I have become somewhat more humble, after all these are my jobs now I call pumps to.I am the one responsible for a clean worksite.Have the contractor call suppliers office and have them come out and clean it up.He has alot more pull than the operator. After a few bouts with salesman they may or may not do something.Untill then I just keep cleaning.Have I called a batch plant over a spill?.You can bet your sweet bippy I have, the trial led about 6 blocks which I sent the load back.I guess it helps when I sign the tickets
