That is why when I am doing deck pours I stand by the edge so I can see my pump but yet see the end of the hose. I like stading close enough to the boom where I can hear concrete going through it. Trust no one in this buisness. If something happen you have to take the heat. |

I also on upper decks , position myself if possible where I can see the end hose and my pump, and usually , when possible, have a qualified guy on or near the pump (oiler), there is a lot of things in this industry that needs to be changed , number 1 being , upper decks , blind pours, going over obstacles, etc. a spotter / oiler should be required on all these jobs and billed with the pump , not that we can't do it, because we always have, but because its safer. |

It is yes.. Thats why Beast misunderstands.. He didn't see the endhose. He said he could see in the flexing of the boom that he was lifting a lot of system. The placing crew was giving him directions. He could not see the tip.. But never mind |

I deleted the fisrt post by mistake. The poor was on the seventh floor (roof deck) .Boom was tied into 250' pipe and five 4' hoses at the start. Labor foreman and myself had two way radios. At the end of the poor the foreman is telling me to move the boom and I could tell something was up just by looking at the boom . I go uptop and find he has me hanging the tiphose reducer and one 4'' hose the other four are still on deck. A little verbal talk with foreman as why I see things he doesnt and set things straight. |

Good you pay atention.. These placing crews often have not the slightest clue of concretepumps. Even after working with them for 20 years day in day out. Shocking actualy.. |
