I have 4 years experience as a mechanic. Ive worked on cifas,schwings, but must of my time has been spent working on concords,kcp, and alliances

forget pumping the money is in sales and you can still use your mechanic skills by utilizing the same concept of what i guy know does. his business name is blaster as in sand and paint. he finds someone that has a fleet of equipment that needs to be turned out. for example he gets six backhoes to work on, gets them all shinny for sale and gives back five. keeps one for his material and labor. he then rents it or sells it. i can assure you he is very well off man. there is a slew of booms for sale so your deal might be the best they are going to get, besides if you have your own unit to run to do a side job but will need a big project to justify the insurance. work smart or work hard but do something the majority cannot.
