Line pump

I am curious as to why contractors use  very heavy, very large ,very expensive boom pumps for 2" line jobs, when a small line pump can do the job just as well.Of course when needing vertical reach,I can understand.Pumping through a line pump designed for such practices seems wiser than using a 200 yd/hr,10" material can machine.

Bis,

I am with you there. Same for block wall fill or small ICF work. Trailer pumps are purpose built. Too many people have a "boom it no matter what" mind set.

I do not get it.

I agree, but every one hates a linepump, seems like we've spoiled them doing things with the booms thats really not good practices reducing to 3,2 1/2, even 2" off the end of a boom, 10 years ago here that was unheard of , now its common practice, plus our linepumps are competing with booms for the work we bought the linepump for,as far as economics our linepump gets the same rate as our 36m.We will not reduce our booms any lower than 3" anything smaller they have to use a linepump

Many companies have that same standard. I think that it is a smart/safe way to plan your work; to say nothing of the disaster come clean out time.
