Well its hard for those who have not followed everything to know why they responded the way they did unless they read the whole posting. Just remember Mack did not post that message it was a dealer who Emailed Chris Hotz and i asked for permission to post it. It was not an official response from Mack. I personally just want this site to have a relationship with a manufacture that cares about our members, now 1,831 members strong.

Hey Todd, Discussions Like This should be heard, If 1800+ members said we are not going to buy **** chassis any more unless you make a better *****. I would think **** and others might listen... wouldn't you agree...Even if each member had the right to choose 1 unit per year that would be over 1800 pumps. Think of the sales for mack or others. I enjoy being a part of this site, I hope the members would sponsor this site if the company's on the right ------------------->>>>wouldn't. I would pay an annual fee to listen and learn from other Pumpers. People that think they all ready no it all and don't listen to others are the worst off. I never go through a day and not listen to my operators, They may new to the industry but any thought or idea could be a good one.. I try to thank them at the end of every day for doing a good job and doing it safely. Any thought is better than not thinking at all... |

Mack has a chance to "say" how they feel about concrete pump operators......... every time an operator climbs in the cab of his MR. The rest is just lip-service. FACT: Concrete pumps mounted on Mack trucks are worth more for one reason, and one reason only. Because you, the purchasers of used pumps say so. As long as you think that it will be true. Used pumps, as all things, the value (price) is set by the market. A truck, pump, watch, hair drier... whatever is worth only as much as YOU say it is. As soon as you 'say' the Condor is worth more; it will be, not until. |

Bob you are right!!!!! I'm to cheap to get a different chassis. When I got the Second pump I asked. Concord wanted $10,000.00(start) to change to a different chassis. So I stuck with What I had.. The pump was delivered(new) with a jake soleniod pooched and jake computer pooched. Mack fixed under warranty no questioned asked. My fault for being cheap. No one to blame but myself...... |

Hey Royal just so you know the sponsors to the right do support this site and work hard to stay in touch with me. People like to deal with like minded people so these sponsors care about you and the fact that you are a member of this web site. You know i talk to most of my sponsors almost every week, some of them a bit less but all of them care about you guys. I feel it is a great honor to be able to call anyone of these guys and talk to the Pres or anyone in the company that can help out and they do help out. If you care about this site and what we are doing than make sure you buy from a sponsor of this site. That means allot to me and thanks to all of you that tell people about this site and support our sponsors. |

Bob,you expressed some valid points. If we return to Dave's original question of would we change. I would,I'm extremly sold on cat engines.I also am sold on a larger gear selection than that of a 9-speed.As for suspension "air ride baby".Cabs,"air ride baby". Lets look at driver fatigue, comfort. The MR cab is nothing more than a bean can.The manufacturers jaming it down our throats telling us it's good for us (like castor oil).It may hold it's re-sale value but when another manufacturer targets our industry and gives us what we really want, katy bar the door. I seem to recollect you and Jim changing out a **** rear suspensin on the shoulder of I-25.Oh how I love those 1930's set ups,oh no it's 2008 already. |

Air bags, me too. I am sold. The first pumps that hit the street with bags didn't take into the fact that the outriggers could completely un-seat the bags.... and we wondered why they kept failing. Live and learn. I don't want to even think about all the repairs we used to make where ever the unit happened to be when it broke. Oh well, we used to all live in caves. ;~) |

Bob,
I'm a appraiser for pumps and what you said is true when the used market starts to pay more for the used Freightliners and Sterlings and Volvo's the market will change. Until then the Mack will bring more money at resale time. |

If anybody thinks a Mack is bad, try buying a TOR from Canada. I personally had the experience of running a 61 meter on 20 airbags. Every day was an experience, could not drive over 55 mph. Truck would lean so bad almost turn over. Also we went through over a dozen airbags in the 21/2 years of operation. I know 114000 lbs is alot of weight, however if the machine costs 1.3 million dollars. it should be right. |

I liked my 52 on a TOR; 5 axle,3 front on bags, 2 rears on bogeys ,center front a powered axle, cruised like a battleship! Be careful going around a corner 'cause she'd lift the inside |

Yeah,I liked mine as well. I know my 52m came in about 105,000 and can't remember the 58m-61m weights. When you get that heavy it's no longer a BMW. |

bigstick | 03-11-2008 | reply profile send pm notify |
I just told you the weight. Tor sent people from canada to repair, never did get it right. We ended up getting a new one on a Mack, works like a charm. |
