I want to know who is to blame for that stupid loud, mind numming mack engine fan?

 I wonder how long it will be before someone puts a class action lawsuite on them! Its just plain wrong, that fan is way to loud for human ears on a 8 to 12 hr day!!!!!

I ran a new 2005 pump for my old company. The fan is a bad design. It is way too loud!! I love it when you are driving up a hill and it turns on. People think you are in the wrong gear. Sounds like the motor is going to blow.

I was told there is a recall on this, free of charge, to get it replaced with a quieter one.  Yes they are LOUD and annoying.

The temp on the 07s run about 30 DEGREES hotter to help burn off more of the fuel that gos into the atmosphere, but we pay for it by loseing our hearing.

I run a 2000 rd688 on a tb105 telebelt (putz)   it's a conventional cab not even like the mr's but I always wear ear plugs anyway. Iwear earplugs when running any equipment. I think the mack is just a loud truck anyway. I also have a volvo for hauling form around and it's much quieter in the cab. Just my 2 cent's worth,thanks Terry

and the stupid warning beebs....turn signals, flashers, axel diff lock.....geez, I catch myself not using my turn signals cause I can't stand the stupid warning beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, okay thats  enough.....

Gives real meaning to hearing aids when ya reach those golden years.

And for those of you that can't hear how loud it is because it has already made you deaf...I SAID DEAF Try seeing ANYTHING driving down a dusty road at 10mph after the fan kicks on

Thats why I love  my freightliner, rides like a car, seat will recline way back, ac will run you out on a hot day and you can walk upright after a 2 hour ride unlike a mack. But i hate the pump it is attacthed to so go figure HAHAHA,.

mack does have a update kit. they replace the fan with a different pitch lade andchange the clutch so it turns at half speed all the time and does'nt run fullblast as long or as often. but it still vary loud and annoying. and accordin to a factory rep over the osha limits on decibles.

You can get a "new" 2 speed fan design from mack that will take care of this. It is now available on new factory Mack units, but it can be put on some older units as well. Check/Beg with you local Mack dealers for details.

And people wonder why I drive down the road with my hard hat on and the muffs over my ears.....lol and the AC cranked up...lol

Lets also mention the way mack handles the emissions and destroys the oil and so on, yes the fans are rediculas, the first time I ran a new one I was infront of the grill, and I swear I could have flattened a penny in my butt cheaks.

I was surfing the internet,on the mack site it bosted a new cab for 07.Any imput?
