Carl is a great guy and will make a great president. Carl Walker is also the first President of the ACPA that is also a member of ConcretePumping.com so give it up for Carl guys. This is exciting news. http://www.centralpumping.com/ I would also like to congratulate another ConcretePumping.com member for being elected to the executive board of the ACPA Matt Kaminsky. http://www.aciconcreteplacement.com/ACI/Welcome.html I believe both of these guys will bring a new, fresh and elevated professionalism to the ACPA. I for one as a member of the Concrete Pumping industry am very excited about these two new posts to the ACPA Executive Board. Now is the best time to join the ACPA.

That's an uneducated comment. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. |

I think I understand what many are thinking. Most of the past presidents were first generation pumpers and carl is a second gen owner. I think the ACPA will benefit from the newer blood. I am not saying the old guys did a bad job, just saying the young blood was needed and a bit over due. The first generation guys built this industry with blood sweat and a hell of a lot of work. I know there are more stories than can be told but the day of blood sweet and tears needs to make way for what generation two has to offer. A more inclusive, standardized, safety minded, educated, visionaries is what I think many are talking about.
Don't get me wrong generation one deserves all the respect in the world and my hats are off to them. I know most all of them and I love them all.
It is going to be a long ride generation two and the future is yours to do with as you see fit.
Go gen two |

I remember back before Jack was president and christi and I tried talking Bill Germany into creating the acpa web site and Bill and Jack thought it was a crazy idea. Christi faught hard and she made it happen but some of those first gen guys had a hard time with progress. |

I met Carl Walker for the first time last spring at the ACPA spring board meeting in Scottsdale Arizona. He has been in the concrete pumping industry for many years and knows far more than i about the concrete pumping industry. He was however open to a new ideas and perspective from a younger generation guy such as myself. He was even so kind as to pay for a dinner that i was getting ready to pay for myself. When our server came out with our check she told us it had been taken care of. Carl was so modest that he told the server not to tell my wife and i that he had paid for our dinner, But it was clear to my wife and i who were talking with Carl and his wife, that he had taken care of our dinner bill, and we appreciated that. Carl is a very kind gentleman from what i could observe of him in the short time we met during that two day conference, and i do really think that he will make a great ACPA president. He has that good old boy persona about him like my father, and i can relate, Carl will be the key to taking the ACPA into a new direction of getting down to business the old school way, the school of hard knocks way, the American way.

Yep he and his wife are very pleasant people, he reminds me of my dad who was a good old boy too. My dad raised me in Hemet/San Jacinto California Valley within Riverside County in the building material supply industry, where we competed with thompson building materials all around southern california. Carl kind of seems like the nicer version on my father with the good old boy way. |
