Guys who were involved in the Katrina rebuild. Do you have any suggestions or direction on who to see about rebuilding homes. Army Corp? Anyone know the foundations specs from Katrina? I think they maybe close to the same. I am assuming Pilings with Grade Beam and all cast in place foundations. Did the elevate them? Keep them same elevation? Curious to anything you can give in information. Do you think Precast tied to grade beam may be a good way? Any suggestion is a good one. Thank You guys |

I know that guidelines tightened quite a bit after Katrina , flood elevations were increased on the coastal areas , foundation anchor bolts were beefed up , I do believe you will have to get with county inspectors and the corps to be sure you are within specs. |

We do 90 percent of the foundation work in that area and we were back at work on weds. I haven't herd any change in spec but we already have calls coming in about rebuilding It's to early to tell if spec is gana change. some areas people can't even get to still. It's gana take along time |

Block Was doing Volunteer work Saturday all day. Headed out again now. Devasted. From Ocean City north it is a MESS. Ocean County got crushed. Heard Saturday from a building inspector in the worst area that they have a PRECAST CONCRETE house already designed in CAD and the Army Corp is very much in favor of it already. They can set 6 houses a day up to 12 foot walls. Like you said. Gonna be a while. |
