Is there any one out there placing big volumes with older equipment or is  the new iron doing the job?

Seed,

@ BCP we use both new and old. But usually I notice if the job is two to three hours away, they seem to send Equipment no older than about 4-5 yrs.

Question ? when you say old how old are you talking ?

Dam Many that is tossing some mud! What year was that 52?

Good question OE! I don't really know what old would be. This is why I am asking. I have a refurbished 98 36 PUTZ. I have only put 320 hours on it in 17 months. I am doing a 1200 yard placement tommoro night with a couple owner operator friends of mine. The second pump is a 99 32 PUTZ. I do not know the hours. Back up pump # 3 is a 89 25 Schwing. We are only slated to place 100 yards an hour! Long travel for ready mix.(two companies) I guess like Many says it is all about the maintenance!

Seed,

You know that they will 'gang-bang' you with trucks until they are spaced out into a regular spacing. My best advice is to pour no faster than the delivery. You will need to pay attention to where the "next" truck is; playing with the volume control as the situation requires. We are usually our worst enemies in that we tend to try and out do the ready mix company. Make sure that the next truck has the chute in position, has been slumped and is ready to discharge before you even consider speeding up the pump to get him in there. Give everyone else a chance to do their job too.

You will, I am sure, do just fine. ;~)

Seed, I have a 96 Putz 28m and she still gets it. Ready mix has trouble keeping up. Never rebuilt same everything. Alittle TLC and she still gets after it.

I guess thoes dawgs can't help but to do what they are built for! 600 with an 82! It is great to hear stuff like that! I am anticipating a good night! Slow and steady. Everyone is in agreement 100 yds an hour is fine. The crew I am working with "PRIDE FLOORS" Are animals. They had me do 360 yards in three hours last fall! The RM plant was rite across the street! 3 mixers at the pump at all time! I think we are going to drop the tip hose, oil up the tip and blast the first 300 or so. You are right about timing Bob. Back in the day. I would blast it all out and wait for an hour? These days,  I'm the one paying the bills. I like to play a little game called pace myself.

It was smooth. Got real cold about 4 am. It was 3 deg f. We were hanging on to life. When the sun cam up we were grateful. It made all the difference. My favorite part was the slip I wrote out and then going to bed. I wish I had one of thoes a week!
