I bought a new pump a month or so ago.  I spray it with non staining form oil befoe we use it.  Then afterwards I pressure wash it.  The paint is peeling off in chunks.  The primer is staying but the paint peels like a sun burn.  Does anybody else have this problem?

I've always had quality paint on my Olin's. Perhaps you should put some tarps over it instead of spraying oil and power washing?  Spray the oil in the hopper and on the screen only?  

Dave Swain at Olin is a great guy. Call him and see if he can help you out.  I'd rather have an olin with crappy paint job, than any other ball valve Pump. 

by the way, what model Did you buy?

I have had 2 used Olin pumps then I bought a new 5-45 in 07.  I just sold it and bought this new 5-45 with 400' of 2.5" hose and clamps.  Just do not understand why the paint does not stick to the primer.  The primer is indestructible.

Wayne someone does not like you, what color is the primer, I painted my Olin several colors the last one was a Massy Fergustion Grey and man it was tough,and I only use spray cans don't put the pressure washer wand to close

The missing paint on the hyd tank the wand was over 12" away.

You know Ed I used spray cans to touch up where the paint came off after the first use and it is not coming off.  The paint job that Olin does is beautiful, it laid down great.  There is a problem somewhere though.  My truck does not peel. It's just strange that the primer stays and the paint does not.

What did Oiln tell you. Or did you show it here first?

you have a paint problem , to much hardener or wasnt prepped right , surely Olin will stand up and make it right , it has nothing to do with the oil you are using are pressure washing it is most definitely a paint issue,

The one thing i know for sure about Olin is they love their product and they are a good company with the best of reputations. They go way way back and have a great following. I love the guys at Olin.

I have talked to great lengths with Dave. I think the world of him, he did turn this pump out in less than 3 weeks for me.  It's very hard to find the right words here.  The main problem is California emissions.  No good paint come from there.  I was advised to not use the pressure washer.  A water hose will not remove the splatters.  If I tarp it the heat from the AIR cooled engine and hyd tank will kill it.  I could paint it with good paint but it is only as good as what it is stuck too.  

use mud slide from zep works awsome. 2nd. mix 1 gallon of tide with bleech, with 2 gallons of water. spray on pump before you leave in the mourning. at the end of the day everything washes right off.

Looks like the time in high school when i spilt brake fluid on my girl friends moms car fender.
