Does anyone have to work with ready mix companies that have these set ups? Sure it is nice for the driver on chute pours but sure can put a pump operator in trouble. Been plugged on the prime from a rookie who couldn't get it up to slump and only filled me 1/4 hopper before spilling over the sides and plugging himself up. And clean out can be a challenge if driver is too lazy to scrape down at the end of the job. They make a little extension to use with chutes in folded position but half are too lazy to use it or the hooks are caked with concrete.

yes we have them in south louisiana and it all depends on the driver , same as the rear discharge , nothing wrong with the trucks , it's the idiot sitting in the seat that gives you problems.

HYd. chutes work great for bending the shit out of your hopper slash guards.

One of our operators bolted some aircraft grade aluminum c channel to the top of his Alliance hopper and they bend the shit out of their chutes now instead of his hopper

They don't listen Ed. Ready mix drivers know everything. Just got done arguing with a driver about washing his chute in my hopper (10 feet away from pile of broken up concrete. And where he just watched me prime) when I'm running a  conforms 3 1/2" hose. Guaranteed plug when they do that. He says but it doesn't plug other pumps (who are most likely running 4" tip hose) I can reason better with my 2 year old than a mixer driver.
