When priming totally Z'ed you need to use a grout mix delivered from ready mix,but if you have section A up,section B down, and C and D straight out priming will not be a problem with slick-pak and such.Washing out is done with the machine cycling,,in forward or reverse, until the tube is clean. The particular truck you run is a real hog,you wont have any problem pumping any mix you fool with. The back end should have an auto greaser because the rear gland is very large, and requires alot of grease.Normal problems are with the shifting proximity swithches located on the main cylinders,or maybe the proximity switch distribution block right there by the brain.Learn how to cycle your machine by the stack valves, and practice with your intermitent switch, you will use it with funny loads. Also keep an eye on your accumulator pre-charge pressure by opening up on the dump valve slowly and watching where it spikes, should be 90 bar?Low accumulator pressure will give you a very "lazy"switch. The ring will take a little more effort to roll,I am sure you have access to a porta power, and remember, plenty, plenty grease.Remember a faulty grating switch will not allow you to pump, and always remember to set the parking brake, which will give you a red light if not done so.In time you will see these things, now on the other side I run a sch...... |

I run a 36z Putz and I prime using just water. If you fill your hopper half full and pump it down before the concrete reaches the cylinders you most likely with not have a problem in any configuration. You can also use the prime a port to push water ahead of the concrete. Slick pack works good but creates a mess on the jobsite. |

Hey shortbus, is that why they call you short bus. what if your inside a building? you cant always be in a frame. listen the best way to do it is this way. 1. cycle your pump in forward to 1 stroke every 3 seconds. as soon as you hear the s-tube shift shut your pump off. 2.do not put any water in hopper. 3. tell driver to fill your hopper with concrete, and do not turn pump on yet. wait. 4. fill priming port with your choice of prime. 5. now close up and turn pump on now you have prime>>>>air>>>>>and thn concrete going through system. if you do not have any gasket leaks, your concrete will never mix with your prime and never jam. |

I prime in a Z everyday. With slumps ranging from 8 to 2.50. If you do prime a dry slump use more water in your hopper than usual. The secrete is going slow, I usually do it on a 2, if you don't when the concrete falls down 2nd section it gets ahead of the water.
