Rapid ERP: Geo Fencing Functionality

There is a cool new feature available in Rapid ERP by Rapid Apps called Geo Fencing.

Geo Fencing ties in with the GPS device provided by Rapid Apps' partner GeoTab that is assigned to a concrete pump. The functionality gives dispatchers an estimated drive time until the pump arrives on the job and estimated distance (in miles) away from the job. This information is available as 2 new columns on the dispatch grid. These estimations will automatically update every 5-10 minutes, but if you are trying to get the most recent estimation in real time, then you can you choose the newly added option “Refresh with GeoFencing” located in the drop down menu attached to the Refresh button. In addition, job statuses will automatically update accordingly. For example, it recognizes when the pump leaves the yard, and change the job status to  In Route . Then when the pump pulls up to the job site, Rapid ERP automatically updates the job status to  On Job . 

In order for Geo Fencing to work most optimally, it is important to have each job site set as Verified. It is recommended to verify a job site site at least a day before the job occurs. 
 
Here are some additional details on how the feature works:

Please note that the Geo Fencing feature has been activated and can be selectively enabled for each equipment that is currently GPS-enabled.

By default, all equipment units have Geo fencing turned off, but it can be easily turned on, by checking the box Geofencing in the Add/Edit Equipment form.

Once an equipment is enabled with Geo fencing, dispatchers can get regular ETA and Distance (in miles) updates about the job the equipment is assigned to whenever the current time is within 4 hours of the job's pour time. Job status and ticket times will get automatically filled in, as soon as the operator assigned to the equipment embarks on his course to the job. Selecting the new Refresh with Geo fencing option will automatically refresh the jobs list with the most recent tracking information available:

In addition, jobs should now track the equipment, ETA and its proximity to the job site on the job's job site map tab:

The Change Activity button will also display changes to jobs made by the new Geo Fencing tracking functionality:
