Is there any way to change the joystick configuration on a schwing/omnex remote? My replacement came with reversed joystick controls, and is now the oddball in our fleet. I opened up the case and swapping the wiring is no small task, is there any way to reprogram the receiver? 

at the other company i worked at we switched the remotes. easiest way is to do it is to tear it apart.

Sucks, but makes it easier not having the odd-ball remote.

Kinda wish schwing would stop changing the controls. Once again on the newest remotes stuff is backwards from the older styles :(

Any way you can simply switch the hydraulic lines at manual control hand valves??  Or...take the remote box apart and see if wires to joystick in question are quick connects and switch them to where sticks function to your liking...

Most North American MFG's are striving for a world pattern this is to help with the wide variety of different patterns that have been around for years.

Good or bad, I agree with the idea of a single pattern. To my knowledge other heavy equipment is configured like this.

One thing to please keep in mind. If you alter a pattern from factory there is a big safety issue doing so without making sure the Icon's or pictograms displayed on the remote MUST match the actual function. This can be a real problem, especialy if there is an accident. 

Also did you remember the hardwire ??? Making sure units are consistent in mode of operation is best.

Easier to just switch the plugs to the pulsar valves or angle plugs depending on what your running. Less mess than changing hyd lines or messin round in a new $5000 remote.

If you change the electrcial plugs on the handvalve, you need to change the settings for each function, since each function is individually adjusted

The new omnex remotes come with a procedure to choose your joystick pattern.  There's a sequence that you follow to pick world or acpa pattern.  

Maybe the older omnex remotes have the same feature?

Buy new decal and swap the wires. No big deal couple of hrs tops

I ended up getting an electrician friend of mine to shred the harness and reroute the wiring. I will be getting a new sticker asap, and rewiring the hardwire. He did it in less than 15 minutes... he was far less careful clipping zip ties than I would have been but he managed to getter done without doing any damage.
