Its realy insane how routines can sit so deep. Just been away from pumping for some 6 months with 2!! tennisarms. (due to hard working ;-) Now I'm back and its like never even been away. Except 1 thing I've done wrong 3 times in a row now... I forget to close the primeport after I put water in it. Start pumping and... big mess behind the pump. 3 times and a few more times that I almost forget it.. So strange that just that thing is just deleted from my routine. I ask myself how can I forget it?? Maybe if I have cleaned up enough concrete from the street I will learn :-) |

I know what you mean. I was away from pumping for 15 months due to this wonderful economy. Had to relocate 1,100 miles to pump again. It all came back to me within the first 2 loads. That was on a Cifa that I had never ran before. |

A typcal thing to forget is to close the bottomlid under the hopper. And it allways happend at a crowded street - never on a buildingplace were it doesn´t matter. And you know what happends when the first truck starts to pour.... It´s not more than 2 or 3 times/year i forgot to close the bottomlid, but it´s allwas on a crowded street and it´s so frustraited when it happends. Never that the mixdriver notice anything, he just fill the hopper and writing sms to his girlfriend - wich is more important for him.....Just another day at the work. |

Haha. I had that once with a mixer with camera on the back. The driver was sitting in the cab.... You can imagine the rest. And you're right.. It was in the middle of towncenter.. By the way. I stand very close to the truck when priming so the 'mess' was not that big but still irritating enough with 2 wheelbarows to clean up. Ill stand by the hopper from now on ;-) |

Every Swedish mixdriver has a camera conected to a monitor to see when they pour and they never leave the driverseat for pouring their load into the hopper. They just sit in their driverseat and look on the monitor and read the newspaper or write sms to their girlfriends. They don´t care how much concrete they spread around the hopper when they don´t stop the mixdrum in time. Most important for them is to do anything else than do their job and look att the level in the hopper. When they forgott to fill the hopper, i use to reversepump and shoot an airbomb with concrete on their truck. It´s the only way to get them to do their job. It´s not so difficult to hold the level in the hopper, but most of the Swedish mixdrivers is unusually lazy and lacking in interest. Sorry but it´s true. |
