In regards to a previous post on Sany's presumed acquisition in the states, here is my bit of knowledge... Sany Sany Sany...To be or not to be...I have a direct contact with Sany, and, as some of you may already know, the tentative acquisition is no longer "tentative". They received government approval to introduce their products into the States, and purchased a whopping 222 acres in the Atlanta, GA area. This China-based company has been in business since the 1980's with distribution of their products reaching 44 countries. Their advantage will be price point and the "Made in America" tag. Not only will they offer Concrete Pumps and related pumping equipment, but also Mortar Machine, Asphalt, Grader, etc.etc.etc. They are targeting the entire construction industry---with the financial backing of the Chinese. Very smart. The one positive effect this might have is creating new margins and price points for existing concrete pump manufacturers. The strong will survive. It's happened in the past. Just a new cycle beginning. |

Alan, To say that was the reason no one liked it is not entirely accurate. People like what they know and resist change without reason. It is part of the human condition. It is difficult to bring a new anything into a marketplace. Resistance is typical and expected. Putzmeister is a wonderful pump. I remember when they were first introduced to the American pumpers and not too many were interested. It takes time and compromise. Never say never. |
