hi guys just a quick one, I have a schwing sp500 iv had it a year or so and she had just started to struggle a bit on change over. When it's changing over the revs drop slightly enough so u can hear it drop. Does it on small lines. I did have a bit of water in the oil at some point.

thanks Matt

Might check your accumulator pressure .

Matt,

at the shift over, there is a pressuree spike for split second, and a lot of times, this pressure spike is dragging the engine  down. How much does the engine drop its rpm? Check the easy things first: when was the last time you serviced the engine (new air filter, new fuel filter)? Is your valve for the soft switch off? If this is all good, close the quarter turn valve and let the pump pressure out? Is is still bogging down? What are the pressure readings when you pressure out? At this point the hyd. Pump destrokes, only to maintain the pressure, and if out of adjustment, it will drag the engine down as well. You may have a pressure cutoff set to low.

the accumulator hydraulic pressure needs to be adjusted correclty, but wont drag down the engine. the sympton for low gas pressure is a slow shift. Both of these are not related to engine bogging down.

A local hydraulic shop probably has a gauge they can go directly to your bottle and be able to charge it if it is low on pressure. Most of them can  recharge it if the bladder doesnt have a hole in it.  They are kinda expensive but I bought a gauge setup from Alliance . Does your accumaltor gauge work that's on the side of the machine? if it does you can start your engine, your accumaltor gage should pressure up to 190bar. Once this has happened shut your engine down and watch the needle drop . It should drop at a slow rate to around 90bar. Once it reaches 90bar it should drop rapidly to 0bar.  If you do this an it drops at the same rate all the way from 190 to 0bar then you could have a ruptured bladder or have a loss of nitrogen. I may be off on my bar. I am no expert but the steps are similar either way. I do highly suggest going to a hydraulic shop and let them check your bottle. I learned the hard way about them . I check mine on a regular basis now. Schwing should be of some help to you if you haven't already contacted them.
