does anybody know if schwing has been sold to a company from china. our equipment manager told us this yesterday?

Schwing got new Investments from China, nothing heard about the deal behind it.

Yes. That is the way I heard it from Germany also. A Chinese Crane Company bought the majority shares and Gerhard will stay on as GM and hold some shares. This was to keep the German influence in the company so not to have a big loss of US customers and huge backlash from the US market especially.

Employees here are aware of a deal but do not know details. Or at least are saying they do not know details.

Guys this speculation is nuts. Either Schwing has a new (Chinese?) major investor or not. It's about time Schwing came clean about this.  For sure they have needed a large cash injection to bail them out because all of us Schwing owners have experienced the lack of parts availability and support here so it makes complete sense.  Now if Tom O keeps denying it to customers and those going to the WOC and later we find out it is true, then he and his brand are in deep poop in this market from a future credibility angle.

THis is the perfect forum for someone from Schwing to just stop this and prove us all wrong. We want the best for Schwing. They are in a tough situation financially like many companies. Just come out and lay it on the line. They have been a world leader, their used stuff is still the best selling in the world.
