hey everyone iv just started driving a new pump a 34m schwing just after some advice on how to get it to slew smothly. any advice would be much apriceated thanks. pump on.

 Practice lots of it.All pumps have their little quirks. When not pumping. You can swing it off to the side and play.Or do it in the yard.You might not get paid for it ,so what ! I spent hours doing it didn't bother me a bit.

thanks rusty22 been trying that but dont seem to be geting any better and plus iv been on a putz m24 for 4 years maybe that why ?

When you move your joysticks look at the stack valves and make sure it is a porportional pump and not a black and white.

Does it have a vector system ? If so you will need a service tech or software and a laptop there is a way to adjust the speeds and the proportional

Set up dead level, Relax and become one with your machine...

if it has vector you can adjust the % by inserting a key into the vector.manual should explain it all if not get some one who has done it.just remember it will move differenetly full of crete and whether your full stik or not.manuel also suggests you operate on snail and just fold and unfold on rabbit.

Everybodys answers are good and remember when your laid out flat you can catch your load aka boom and it wil be smoother. ALmost like you were running a black and white or a crane. When you swing and then stop, get back in it again briefly. So when your booms about to swing back a little after you went one way with it you catch it. Pump ON

i agree with you. by getting back into it this actually takes the little bit of slack between the ring gear and the slewing gear. sometimes you will see the boom bounce from side to side. it is as if it is bouncing back and forth on the two gears.

read the tech manual, find out how to put the pump in teach mode, follow the insructions,

I agree with the previous couple posts about catching and releasing the boom, one thing that can be also helpful is when trying to find the point of stick travel at which the boom actually begins to slew is to listen for when the hydraulics begin to "load up" which I notice just as the boom is about to begin slewing... obviously on a noisy sites this method is not going to be very useful, but on those pours that when you can clearly hear what the machine is doing I find it to be helpful.

16 cell I find that method very useful on a putz but the hydraulics on a schwing, to me are a little harder to identify the loading until it starts moving, but that may just be my deaf ass, these mack fans are killing my hearing, but still a very good point.

hi danny16 u've just got 2 get use 2 it thats all it iz u'll find out wot it can and can't do every pumps different ive had the chance 2 op. many makes and model pumps u'll get it.
