Hey guys. I have a job offer, and would like some input on weather a 17/12 and hour split pay rate for operations, and operator Texas would be good. I don't know what the cost of living and all that jazz is, so any help would be appreciated.

Never been a big fan of the split, you are just as valuable and job no less important whether you are operating,driving or maintaining your pump in the yard. Although the split isnt so bad during the winter time when you need some yard time to get by. Pick your poison so to speak...

been to DFW twice over the winter checking it out and thats about the going rate but you will be on the road half the time so your average is what concrete truck driver makes, they are non union. rent is high and food is expendsive. you can but a house cheep but the property tax is outragous. would you believe that a grocery store in oregon pays that kind of money and in oregon we have mountains, trees and rivers. and too many educated people ha ha

The more i think about it, the less appealing it sounds, I was making 20$ doing sales and pumping, before i got hurt. 65 avg workweek. They couldn't hold my job so, I am hurting with five kids to feed. ANything is better than nothing, but I don't want to get out there and starve in unknown territory! LOL

even us survivors are starting to hurt and this is season to ketch up on old bills, i would be glad to make $20- this winter and would still be broke.

wheres the split at, drive time and yard time vs  on job time? any time is  better than no time,

if you could get a gurenteed 40, wouldnt be so bad, but for now, id say keep looking. I thought pumpco was the only one that did that split pay crap. Guess its going around trying to save where ever they can

no garanteed 40, they say their drivers average 47 to 50 hours a week. Believe me I have been looking. This is the only advertised pump job anywhere. I have even sent unsolicited resumes to companies. MY family and friends are split on weather i should go, my wife and I are both anxious about it and praying a lot, but we have five kids to feed. What do you do?

Hello! I live in Houston, Texas area. I run a pump for a medium sized company. I'am glad that you found a job in the state, cause the word on the street is ALL pump companies are on a hiring freeze! Split pay has its ups and downs, However you'll spend more time on job, then driving in most cases! I dont know where you live at the moment, but cost of living ih the Houston area is reasonable, just depends on what side of town.
