Hey guys. Thought I would share a few photos of concrete pumps I saw while on vacation a few months back in South East Asia. 

The first photo is of a newer putzy in Malaysia. They were operating the pump from the wire remote which meant on a putzy, it was black and white. They had a double ended 5" hose on the end and had to lay the hose out on the footing to reach. The operator was operating from inside the cab which looked like it was the norm on this pump. The cab had curtains all around it to block out the sun. It also appeared that there was an operator with a linhand on the pump.

These photos were of a 55M Jun Jin in Da Nang, Vietnam. It was amazing how they let us walk right up to the pumps to take a look at the concrete inthe hopper and of the rest of the pump. This machine looked like it had the operator up top and two men on the pump down below. One was watching the hopper while the other was looking around the truck and had a grease gun in his hand. It looks like the front outrigger on the driver's side in the second photo is short-rigged going over the front passenger side with the boom.

I saw the yard where this company had their pumps parked and it looked like they had about 8 pumps, all fairly modern.

I remember I was sinking in the ground in my thongs as I was walking towards the pump and remember seeing only pads underneath this 55 on the spongey ground.

I go to Malaysia every winter for a few weeks..10RM a day isn't enough to live on. When I was there last year there were 3 pumps in the country all from Thailand . Hanson, cemex and lafarge are big time there, the ready mix trucks have hydraulic jacks to lift the chutes..hand operated, the clean out routine was absolutely the most dangerous thing I ever seen. I went to a condo job they poured a few trucks and went home..no bulkhead..just cold joints . The super on the job knew 6 languages..hard hats were straw hats, and the laborers lived on the bottom floor of the site. Totally different world
