Spray on metal coatings on elbows etc

Has anyone tried spray on metal coatings on standard standard elbows and specialty bends?  I am thinking about trying a coating on my new auger first to see if it will last.

Save your money,get some hardfacing rods and let er rip.

I have done this in the past, just looking for new ideas. I also have cut up old pumping cylinders and welded them on the auger as wear plates. This works real well along with the hard face rod to fill in.
