how much sugar is required in your hopper to kill the concrete.  A job that I was at the other day the super asked me to shovel my cleanout pile into the wash out bin...I told him no but went back the next day with a bobcat and picked it up...btw no ramps on washout bin.  I want to take it to a concrete recycling place that is about 30 min away and not have to worry about getting stuck in traffic or anything of that sort

I would say a pound or two.
But it all depends on the mud, how old it is, what type, how much, how well you mix it in.. and so and so

Keep in mind sugar water (I know) is enough to kill mud for a longer time.Simply mix some sugar with a 5 gal bucket and your off.Personally I have remixed a can of coke with water and went 45 min from job to wash out.2 lb of sugar mixed with 4 gal you might just make 100 miles in traffic.

Been a while since I've posted, so, Hi Guy's!! I use sugar every washout, because it makes it so much easier. No hot mud build up in the hopper. I pump my hopper dry, throw in about a half pound in and then rinse down the hopper.THEN I put a half cup in the tip elbow with some water then ,suck a sponge. I can load up in no hurry, and washout. Most of my customers love it because the clean up afterwards is so easy! Their guys just spread it around and it becomes gravel!

I used to always keep a bottle of cola in the cab. That's all you need to do the trick.

I use about a pound or so to kill my hopper. If you have a priming port crack it open and pour in a bucket of sugar water and stroke it in reverse a few times. Or pour the sugar water in the elbow and then suck a ball. This kills everything in the jugs and the valve.

I've seen guys just dump it in their hopper which does'nt get the important areas because it's not mixec through out.

 ps, Diet Coke wont work!

1 can of coca cola (not diet of course) will kill a whole hopper.
