Tight Access Opening

We are pouring new concrete tanks inside an existing Water Treatment Plant, with the roof already on the building we have had to cut a hole in the roof and another one in the side wall just to get access to our work.

Opening is 13' high and 14' wide. With only a tight lane to the edge of our contract limits (inside a park so we can't kill the trees) we were not sure what equipment we could fit back there.

Got a TB-130 in - just barely! First the outriggers are set out on planks and the conveyor belt put in through the opening on an angle. Then the truck drags itself forward to get the pivot point lined up in the center of the opening.

-- Thanks for all the posts on this site, I used many of them planning the above activities. As a General Contractor the photos of what Pumps and Belts can do are a great reference!

(All our small pours are done the slow way! Ready Mix truck into a 1 meter bucket on the existing bridge crane, over to the pour area and back. The best we can do is about 6 meters / hour!)

I am so glad the site was of help. Just ask if you ever need anything. Nice pictures by the way

I have always wondered why a telebelt has not worked the Vancouver BC area, man i  tell you it would be one busy machine around here. I should have bought one 10 years ago, what's the big issue with them. Can they work at say 4 degrees out or are they like pumps 3 degrees, we only have rock slingers and not to many of those. I can't count how many customers have asked if we can pump wet sand for back fill hehe.

Interesting. Put the rigger down and boom to the side then move the truck. I see.

Yeh, you got it. It was a bit complicated, took three 'jogs' to get centered in the opening. Pull the truck ahead, then turn the belt, pull ahead, turn the belt.

We were not sure if the operator would go for it, but as always they are the guys that know their machines the best - and when the sales man was there watching he made sure it worked!

The outriggers never fully came off the ground with the belt way over to one side, so that’s why we used long planks under them to act like ski's and slide the outriggers through the gravel.

If we do it again I'll try and get a video, but I think we may be done with usefulness of a TB-130 and no one has a TB-105 in the area.
