b a s f is a good equipment paint like for the pipe. acrylic is one shot durable stuff. DuPont is nice for base coat, clear coat to give it a shine if you have a pretty color scheme.

I would use an equipment level paint like AUE 300 you can buy it by the gallon and add a quart of hardner. It sticks well, and is cheap (150 a gallon) so you can use plenty. You need to give it a heavy final coat as to build up a gloss. It wears ok and can be re painted where as Emron can't . If you sand and paint over an existing paint job you don't need primer other wise  prime it well with an epoxie primer.
