What do you like to keep in your pump truck during winter time? Example: extra socks, heavy boots.... |

In the old days I'd keep a can of soup which I would put on the manifold of the rear enigine until one day it exploded. :( |

Some extra clothes, warm socks, gloves. We have coffee makers, microwave ovens, refrigerators in all our pumps so warm food and drinks is never a problem |

All kidding aside, pretty much the same as what I wore.I also carried a poncho, extra jacket (had 2 piece carharts),lots of gloves,a cold weater mask, rubber gloves, the undies, vinagar, hand lotion, chap stick. We pretty much knew the night before on our jobs so extra food/drink or a stop at the trusty 7-11.If the weather called for inclimate weather I would come in early and load chains. Our in time was generally 30 min prior to leave but winter I tried for at least 45 min, just cause. The short version |

I work in cold climates alot in the northeast. I have a special tupperware style box I keep all my "survival" gear in through out the year in my service truck. It mostly consists of gear to keep me warm in anything upto -40 degrees anything colder Im staying home. LOL But the main thing for me anyways is to keep my feet dry and warm so I wear snowmobil type boots when it is too cold for normal work boots. |
