open loop the vavles center to tank and the hyd. pump is at max gpm. closed loop vavles are closed to tank. Hyd. pump compensates gpm when needed |

I'm from Israel. I will buy one pump to see how the Israelian market will react to this pump and if all will go well I will be a dealer for this brand. I choose Sermac because the dealers off the major brands (Cifa,Schwing and Putzmeister) in Israel are as#ho*€. They care only about money and I cant make my pumping company bigger and stronger with them. Im going to deliver Sermac pumps mainly for myself. So what do you say? Open or close? |

Schwing uses an open circuit system as most others.Closed loop is used by putz, reed, and cifa I believe |

Yosik,
A closed loop hydraulic system is generaly used in hydrostatic transmissions, such as a crawler drive on a dozer or a winch drive on a crane. In these systems, the oil is recirculated within its circuit (thats where the name closed loop comes from) and the circuit always has a charge pump, to ensure it is fully charged, as you will have oil losses through case drains. Putz and Schwing use open loop , where the oil within a circuit is returned to tank, after it has completed a function ( thats where the name open loop comes from) i am not sure how Sermacs are set up, just looking at the functions a hydraulic system has to perform on a pump, it does not make sense to have a closed loop

Putz is a closed loop and uses a charge pump .Some oil is returned via a flushing valve. |

So... I made my research and exept putzmeister and everdigm all the pumps in the world use open loop. The diffrent between the two systems is that in close loop the pump use almost the exact amount of oil that it need to activate cylinder. in open circuit the pump send almost all the oil all over the elements and return the oil ALWAYS throw the filters back to the oil container. For hot climate the open circuit is better, for cold climate close circuit is better. The maintence of open circuit is a little bit easier. |
