MAN........ it is hard to read that!! Ya need some of them scratch marks in there like . and , and such Example #1: Too Tall said Seed was the best operator he ever saw. Example #2: Too Tall, said Seed, was the best operator he ever saw. I don't have it all figured out yet, but whenever I stop for a breath I put in a scratch mark. ;~) |

I am by far not an expert. Example 1 is better, I think! It was tough to read, no offense! The blogging over the years has helped my grammar and spelling. I type, punctuate, read, reread, use spell check and then send it off still with errors. I believe example # 2 would be considered fragmented according to my spell check. The fragmented sentence error message really drives me NUTS! I was never really did that well in English, Math, Science, History, Gym class and Lunch LOL. No wonder I became a concrete pumper. Where I lack in education I just use a lot of cuss words. |

My bad they are both fragmented! To answer your question. You have to be thick skinned in this business. This industry toughened me up a lot. We are in the people business. Most equipment will pump the concrete. It is the relationships that keep us in business. When relationships go bad you need to move on and hopefully recognize where it went wrong. Good luck! |

Yes, I do get your point. I was not throwing rocks, just letting you know how hard it was to read. Your point is well taken. Seed , It is not fragmented in as much as it has a completely different meaning. It was an example, not a teaching tool as such. I took the example out of an article called "A little Comma Sense". I thought that it was applicable. ;~) |

Dumpaa, Keep doing a good job and the best you can. Keep finishing every job, one after another... The only thing that a big mouth can run very well is his mouth. Talk is cheap, Showing them is much more effective than telling them... TooTall did say, That Seed, Is one of the best operators out there! The one man, owner operator, makes it happen every day! All on their own.. Pump-On Brother!!! |

LMAO Too Tall! You guys know this is a tough industry! The thing I have learned most besides it is not all about having a Mercedes Benz and driving a new pick up truck. There is a " HUGE " difference between jumping is a mans machine and doing it on your own!!!!!!!! Yea that's right, 8 explanation marks! For sure it is not for the faint of hart. The man that brought me into this business taught me a few lessons. #1. The most important thing is that girl you go to sleep beside every night! His word exactly! #2 No partners and no witnesses! #3 Don't tell anyone nothing! God I love that guy! Evan though he is a miserable Prick! He is smart, Built a business that people only dream of! I am super proud to say it and he has evan said it himself to me on the way out the door. Just remember Allen, If it wasnt for me, you would not be doing what your doing! He is a great man in an industry that sucks the life out of everything it touches! I have to laugh. The other night my wife says to me. The only reason we started this business is because we thought we would be rich? " surprise " If your gonna make it you have to diversify! It is a hell of a tax right off! Think about it, Your buying a luxury home that you pay off in five years, We are all siting at the craps table. If your thinking about buying a concrete pump. Let me tell you, You better be a little stupid, have balls of steel, and make sure it is big enough and reconditioned to do commercial work. It is a Crazy business! Like they say, once it is in your blood, well good luck with all that! Diversify! you are not going to make a living from a concrete pump! One guy could live in a quonset hut and make it. Your not going to pick up chicks living like that LOL! My best wishes to everyone in the industry. I have to give my gratitude to Todd for inventing CP.com, Bob for harping safety, which has ultimately made me a safer operator and all that contribute. The everyday real life experience that moves the industry forward. It makes us all better operators! PUMP ON! seed |
