Friday before a long weekend, second job of the day, 2 o'clock , 100 miles from home and this cowboy wants to pour an icf wall IN THE AIR!!!

this thing has got 2 2x4 uprights under 25 feet of wall, one brace per 40 foot span, and its 2 feet in the air...

I got it filled with only a couple of blowaparts, but then as i was folding up the boom, he broke out the vibrator, and now i gotta go back next friday

ICF - FAIL!!! So, this all fell apart and you gotta go again? What's the deal? This guy never heard of excavating to grade and using void form? Also, how did the building inspector pass this?

this looks like a job a local contractor i know did for a little old lady next door to me. He dug pillars for a deck and used those cardboard pillar forms you get at home depot.None of his holes lined up and when the mixer driver showed up the dum ass did not even have a wheel barrow. He used a 5 gallon plastic trash can to haul all the crete to his lopsided offline holes. It was an incredibly terrible job, same as this one pictured.

thanks todd for getting my pics on

The funniest part of this whole deal was as it was falling apart, the contractor put his hands on his head , looked up into the sky and yelled "how can this happen?"lol

ITS like he didnt see it coming!!!lol

that is quite possibly the scariest looking foundation i've ever seen...

i had a contractor pour a monolithic (footing/wall combo) icf foundation a few years back. it was a disaster, most of the icf blocks floated up off of the footing forms and we also had a number of blowouts... i made him promise me that he would never try to do that again.

I see what looks like a canadian tire in the back ground.....lol maybe he should have used a pallet of duct tape...lol to hold all together oh well maybe he can get some lessons from children playing with a lego set.....

Looks like it's glued, not enough bracing. The sauna tubes floated and moved, enter, disaster.

At what point does some one go .."I have a FABULOUS idea!!",Then after seeing it come together go ....HELL YEAH That'll work!!" LOL that is one of the worst idea's I have seen as far as concrete goes!!!!

On the contrary,a very intavating thought. We dodn't know if it's on cassionsor or footer pad. What was missed is sauna tubes should have been poured 1st,then forms built.

I think the Sonotubes are completed. What I don't understand is why they over-excavated so badly.

Did the genius who built that fine ICF abortion also dig that hole ..... was he drunk ?

Many,

the sono tubes were poured before, i pumped them a week ago, but i really tho't they would backfill and then build.

Im no engineer, but icf's are always on a footer...

Anyway, buddy called to cancel the pump for the repour, says he can tailgate it.... maybe it was my fault it fell over...dunno

I wonder if they got rm trucks with the z71 off road package???

I think I would have the pump warmed up,tailgate my foot.I question why the tubes wern't on a pad and backfilled,my 13 yr old grandson would have caught that.

Can ya get a visual on tailgating? Woah!!! Thanks for the shout,I would sneak by with camra in hand for the re pour "grin"
