CIFA Celebrates 80 Year Anniversary at World of Concrete 2008
In 2008, CIFA S.p.A. celebrates 80 years of excellence in concrete. Founded by Engineer Carlo Ausenda in Milan, Italy in 1928, Compagnia Italiana Forme Acciaio (CIFA) was formed as a specialized Steel Formworks manufacturer, for heavy civil tunneling and dams. In the early 1950's CIFA entered into the design and manufacturing of concrete batching plants and related equipment. As the first Italian truck-mounted concrete mixer manufacture in 1958; CIFA two years later introduced its first truck-mounted concrete boom pump. CIFA once again achieved unsurpassed technical leadership in 1975 with the world's 1st truck-mounted combination mixer/boom pump.
Today CIFA is the only true full line concrete equipment manufacturer who designs, engineers, builds and tests all equipment in-house. CIFA, a respected global leader sells and services our equipment to over 80 countries. Our products have produced, transported, placed and provided concrete solutions since 1928. To support ongoing increased global growth, CIFA owns and operates 6 (six) production facilities in Italy, 1 (one) in Mexico and 1 (one) in the United States. CIFA USA, Inc. was established in 1999 and completed its new full service facility in Yorkville Wisconsin in 2005. Plans for expansion to accommodate our North American growth are currently in design.
In 2007, CIFA USA, Inc. continued to follow its vision of being a "your concrete pump manufacturer not a competitor" to our customers. This year Concrete Equipment Supply, Inc. based on North Carolina has joined as a strategic marketing partner in the Tri- State region of Georgia, North and South Carolina. In other partner news, our sales and service network has been strengthened with the newly completed full service facility at Irving Equipment, Tiffin Ohio, CIFA USA Inc.'s Midwest dealer. This new facility offers our customers another complete service center of CIFA equipment. CIFA USA's continued commitment to the North American Market has led to the introduction of the K52 Plus and K40L. Understanding the changing needs of the marketplace, this new equipment was specifically engineered and built to address today's complex weight laws and contractor concrete placement needs. In order to accommodate customer's requests CIFA USA Inc. has formed a new division for reconditioning used equipment. The new product line, "VALUE PLUS", service is now available with various equipment choices and warranty plans.
CIFA USA Inc. will showcase at the World of Concrete 2008 for the 1st time to the general public the all new "K-52 Plus." This industry "Exclusive" Six (6) section RZ boom known as "The 52 meter on the 47 footprint" is the result of an impressive engineering and manufacturing effort allowing safe operations to maneuver in areas not achievable with typical four or five section type of booms of the same class. The 6th section allows a straight extension of 168 feet with a "true" reach impossible to achieve with 5 section booms.
The innovative boom configuration features 5" twin wall pipes standard from turret to tip hose. The use of medium and then all long radius interchangeable elbows reduce wear and jobsite problems.
The K52 Plus is powered by the reliable HPG 1808 closed loop pumping kit with 9" S Valve capable of delivering an impressive output of 235 yd3/hr, and capabilities up to 1885 PSI pressure on concrete. This hydraulic pumping group incorporates the use of our "7th hydraulic pump" technology found on only CIFA for outstanding and performance and reliability. All CIFA closed loop systems features the Patented "Quick Service" S-Valve and Agitator assembly for the Industries only direct service of wear parts without hopper removal.
The K52 comes standard with the K-Tronic stability control and data logging system with multiple functions that allow safer operations, easier maintenance and production management.
The CIFA K52 Plus incorporates the industries only auxiliary diesel engine, for the boom and outrigger system, the feature allows the operation of these components in the event of truck engine or pto failure.
Other features such of integral working area lighting, high pressure water pump and automatic pump greaser make this 52 meter stand out in the crowd.
CIFA USA, World of Concrete 2008 will also feature the new "K-40L." This 40 meter Z boom features a new sub-frame and turret design for maximum stability and minimum stress to successfully reduce the required set-up area. This new design of boom and frame combined with extensive use of aluminum panels allows the unit to have an "Honest Operating Weight" (includes driver and full fuel tanks) of under 57,500 pounds. This 3 axle configuration allows the use of the pump in most of the states without the need of special overweight permits.
The K40L also features CIFA's Patented "Quick Service" cutting and compensation rings and our proven Ultra Smooth, open loop pumping kit, PA 1506/909 that can deliver up to 200 yd3/hr. This pumping kit combined with standard twin wall easy reduction pipe line with long and medium radius elbows greatly reduce the "bounce" effect normally associated with 4 section long reach machines, effectively increasing the life of structural components and routine wear components. The CIFA K40L is a boom pump that will provide customers with the best of today's technology, reliability, and performance at an "Outstanding Value."
CIFA USA rounding out our 2008 World of Concrete, we are proud to display the "K-36 XZ" mounted on a custom "Mack Granite" truck chassis and the K48 XRZ. All CIFA pumps feature solid through pins at articulation joints and butt welding for both long life and outstanding stability. Many features found as options on other manufacturers' pumps are standard on CIFA pumps, such as, two wireless radio remotes, automatic greaser, hopper vibrator, high pressure water pump, lighted working areas, and high performance twin wall boom pipes. In addition, every new CIFA boom pump comes with our emergency pump "over-pack kit" with toolbox, relays, fuses, o-rings, and all major hydraulic hoses. CIFA is the only manufacturer that can supply closed and open loop hydraulic systems according to the customers needs.
The PC40-6A completes CIFA USA's showcase of the World of Concrete 2008. The PC 40 comes standard with features that make this little powerhouse an outstanding value in performance and reliability. Features like our chromed seven 7" x 40" pumping cylinders for increased pump durability and life, agitator, hopper vibrator, and electric trailer brakes are just a few standard items that make this compact but heavy-duty trailer pump unit a best buy. Additionally in 2007 CIFA USA has successfully expanded its portable trailer pump line. CIFA portable units ranging from 40 cubic yards models up to 110 cubic yard models have been placed in service on several projects and we will continue to expand this product line in 2008.
Stop by and see our eye catching show feature for a great photo opportunity, Our CIFA K48 XRZ meter on display is specially painted to salute the National College Football Champions LSU Tigers on their impressive BCS bowl victory. This winning unit will be going directly from the show to service customers in the Southern Louisiana area, we are sure it will be a big hit as it rolls along the interstate.
