PROVIDENCE — A cover on a pressurized water tank of a concrete pumping truck exploded off yesterday afternoon in the West River Industrial Park damaging the roof of a building.
The flying cover punched an 18-inch gash in the roof of the building at 90 Royal Little Drive.
No one was hurt in the explosion. The building houses two Internet services companies, VeriSign and Markland Technologies. The Fire Department’s hazardous-materials team inspected the area and determined that no dangerous substances had been released.
Although the driver of the truck, owned by JA Concrete Pumping in Cumberland, left the scene, the state police truck squad was able to track him down. There were no other details yesterday on the investigation.
