Holder Takes Delivery of TROPHYLITE on Friday and Wins on Saturday October 30, 2008

Lenny Holders New Race Truck.

Heber, California (October 30, 2008) –The 2008 KMC Wheels TROPHYLITE Series Presented by KC HiLiTES has provided endless excitement and surprises in its inaugural season. This was never more apparent than when Lenny Holder, a 47 year old desert racing veteran and owner of a concrete pumping business, took delivery of his brand new TROPHYLITE truck on Friday morning. Less than 24 hours later he was enjoying the spoils of victory at Round 4 the Best in the Desert Golden West Cycle 150 in Jean, Nevada.

The TROPHYLITE field was led off the line by #6065 Matt Armstrong followed by #6069 Randy Blacker. As the rest of the field began the race, Matt Armstrong continued on the lead setting a blistering pace by the end of the first lap. Armstrong would be unable to maintain his pace and would end up ceding the physical lead at the conclusion of the second lap to #6017 Gary Messer, however, #6061 Louis Chamberland followed closely and held the lead on corrected time. Chamberland would hold the lead until double flat tires would drop him down the running order. At the conclusion of the third lap, Messer had clear air and the lead on corrected time, but a miscalculation by his pit crew in determining the size of his lead would allow #6020 Lenny Holder to strike after Messer had backed off his pace slightly. #6060 Glen Rolfe, attempting to make up for lost time early in the race after losing a spare tire, would also squeeze by Messer to claim second.

After the dust settled, new TROPHYLITE owner #6020 Lenny Holder beat out #6060 Glen Rolfe by a scant 32 seconds! #6017 Gary Messer would follow Rolfe by one minute. #6099 Mike Jenkins and Dr. Macrae Glass came home fourth and #6061 Louis Chamberland and partner Mikey Childress rounded out the Top 5 after recovering from their mid-race mishap.

Lenny Holder- “We ran a consistent race all day today. The TROPHYLITE team prepared a brand new truck and it worked flawless for me. I am very happy to be part of the TROPHYLITE family and plan on finishing out the TROPHYLITE Season with another win.”

Glen Rolfe- “We had our spare tire fall off early in the day. We lost several minutes by stopping and putting it back on. When I see that we only lost by 33 seconds, I can know that we had a great run.”

Gary Messer- “I am very glad that my luck has finally turned around and I had a great run today. I would have really liked to win but that just wasn’t in our cards today. I know that the guys that prep my truck are doing a great job and we will be in victory lane very soon. “

The exciting conclusion to the 2008 KMC TROPHYLITE Series Presented by KC HiLiTES will take place at the Glen Helen Baja Cup in San Bernardino, CA on December 13. It is estimated that a minimum of 20 TROPHYLITE trucks will be there to take the green flag and decide who will be the 2008 KMC TROPHYLITE Series Presented by KC HiLiTES Champion!
