New CPMA President Elected 2006
Rob Edwards, Manager, Publications and Product Safety for Schwing America was recently elected president of the Concrete Pump Manufacturers Association(CPMA). The Association is made up of manufacturers of concrete pumps and suppliers to the industry. Two positions were vacant on the CPMA Board and Edwards won a Board position and subsequently was elected to the role of president. Schwing America, represented by Edwards, has been a charter member of the Association.
As a 26 year employee of Schwing America, Edwards has concentrated his efforts on concrete pump safety. He has been influential in the production and distribution of printed and video based safety materials for the ACPA and the CPMA. “I look forward to continuing to serve the industry in my new position with the CPMA. Schwing has been very generous to allow my time to be spent on these important safety matters that effect the entire industry,” noted Edwards.
The CPMA is dedicated to formalizing the guideline for the design, manufacture, testing, safe use, inspection and maintenance of concrete pumps for the North American market. Compliance is a requirement for CPMA membership, and participating members urge pumpers and contractors to request pumps and systems in compliance when making purchasing decisions
