New Generation 2 Detachable Boom Debuts at World of Concrete 2006
Schwing America has announced the latest in detachable boom technology with the company’s truck-mounted KVM 39X concrete pump with Generation 2 detachable boom. The new boom design offers lighter picking weight and faster mounting for more productivity on projects requiring a separate placing boom. The versatile Roll and Fold™ boom action is retained. Only four pins and eight quick-disconnect hydraulic hoses are required for Gen 2 owners to fly their booms for more versatility and better equipment utilization.
The key to the Generation 2 concept is the separate powerpack/reservoir which is flown to the mounting point independently of the boom. This allows a 13,200 lb. picking weight for the 114-foot boom which can be mounted in many ways, including: tubular mast with floor frames, wall truss, lattice tower, ballasted cross frame or foundation frame. When on highrise work and utilizing a self-climbing form system, the tubular mast can be attached to the forming system, or a zero-elevation frame can be clamped to the working deck of the forms.
The KVM 39X is one of the longest booms available that mounts on an economical three axle truck. In addition to the lower initial expense, the three axle truck maneuvers better and requires less maintenance than custom, multi-axle carriers. The Schwing KVM 39X can be equipped with many Schwing pumpkits providing output up to 213 cubic yards per hour. The Generation 2 is available as a separate placing boom.
