NRMCA TOURS SCHWING MANUFACTURING FACILITY 2002

The NRMCA (National Ready Mixed Concrete Association) hosted the OEM (Operations and Equipment Maintenance) Committee Spring Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota recently. Committee members attended seminars and discussed upcoming forums and expos as well as future meetings.

To kick off the annual event, committee members gathered in the lobby of Schwing America’s plant in White Bear, Minnesota. After a tour of the manufacturing facility, Schwing engineers demonstrated the Stetter mixer trucks. These models feature a 13% lower center of gravity than other mixer trucks, resulting in enhanced stability. One Stetter unit was painted with a NASCAR theme. With a simulated load, the truck demonstrated its stability on an obstacle course with abrupt elevation changes. Other brands of truck mixers were on hand for comparison purposes. The visitors from the OEM Committee were encouraged to drive the mixers and compare the units.
