SCHWING MOVES LINE PUMPS TO ATLANTA FACILITY 2000
In an effort to better utilize manufacturing facilities, Schwing has announced the move of their line pump manufacturing to Atlanta. "This will put us closer to the major markets for line pumps and complement the manufacturing capability we have at the Marietta facility," says Glen Grabowski, newly appointed General Manager for line pumps. Schwing's facility outside Atlanta encompasses 57,000 square feet of plant and offices on nearly 13 acres of land. The growing trailer pump market required dedicated manufacturing space not available at Schwing's 375,000 square foot boom pump manufacturing plant in White Bear, Minnesota.
Schwing Atlanta's parts and service outlet currently provides manufacturing services for White Bear and is a parts and service facility for all Schwing products. "Our parts inventory is second only to White Bear, " states Grabowski. Schwing Atlanta will continue to service Schwing boom pumps and be a major parts depot. Grabowski will still oversee the Atlanta branch as well as managing the already successful trailer pump line.
Schwing manufactures a complete line of trailer pumps from 25 yard per hour mechanical ball valve grout pumps to 95 cubic yard per hour hardrock concrete pumps with the patented Schwing Rock Valve. These models are generally provided as tow behind units but can be ordered mounted to a suitable truck chassis. The wide range of models in the Schwing line include shotcrete pumps, hydraulic ball valve units and concrete pumps with up to 150 horsepower capable of placing boom pump mixes.
