Schwing Takes Spotlight At 2006 World Of Concrete 2006
Schwing America was in the news at the 2006 World of Concrete. The White Bear, MN-based concrete pump manufacturer was featured in the Las Vegas local news and on a nationally televised news program.
On January 17, Las Vegas news station KLAS Channel 8 covered the trade show and gravitated to the Schwing Booth. The station aired an interview with Schwing America Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Brian Hazleton on location in the manufacturer’s booth. Hazelton spoke to the continuing popularity of concrete pumping equipment and the strong demand for Schwing equipment. He also addressed the important role of concrete pumping technology in the rebuilding efforts following the recent hurricane disasters in the south.
On January 22, CBS News Sunday Morning took a slightly different tack in their coverage of this year’s WOC. Correspondent Bill Geist visited exhibitor booths throughout the show, attended outdoor demonstrations and covered the annual bricklayer’s contest, marveling, “Who knew concrete could be this much fun?” The segment featured Geist testing several pieces of equipment, and interviewing exhibitors and attendees, even a concrete historian. The outdoor Schwing Booth which featured the S 61 SX with 197-foot boom straight up, the Generation2 Separate Placing Boom and several other boom pumps was prominently featured in the program.
