Spotter

An individual employed by the pump company, the general contractor or a sub-contractor that has a dedicated duty during the pour. This duty is either to serve as a sentry to warn the operator that he is approaching a dangerous area with the boom; such as a high voltage line, a crane boom or any other job-site hazard - or – to act as a relay point in the case of the operator not being able to see the point of placement or the signal man at the point of placement. This individual is, during the required time, dedicated to that one job and no other. He must be properly and completely informed as to the scope of that job and understand that he must remain alert to that job until it is completed. He may not be assigned any other task during the assigned period.
